Mayor of Anchawadj

The festival will take place on Decembre 30th, 31st 2007 and january 1st 2008 in AG-DILINTA, a 65 miles journey North East of the city of Gao in Northern Mali.

AG-Dilinta, which means “those who refused to surrender to the French colonial power”, has been selected as the site of the festival because of its numerous historical symbols and archeological treasures.

The Tuareg culture in all its diversity and originality will be displayed at this rendezvous: concerts, dances, camel racing, traditional sport and game, holistic medicine, artisans' products exposition, hair braiding, henna session, ceremonial initiations, poetry, traditional music and more.

This festival is produced by the Tuareg NGO TILWAT in partnership with the Mayor of Anchawadj and under the sponsorship of the Malian Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism.
